Ingredients
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
2 lamb shanks
-
salt & pepper to taste
-
1 minced shallot
-
2 minced garlic cloves
-
½ cup dry white wine
-
1 cup low sodium broth
-
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
-
2 tablespoon brown mustard
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F
Season lamb with salt and pepper
Heat olive oil in a dutch oven over medium heat
Brown lamb shanks on all sides
Remove lamb shanks and put them aside
Add shallots and garlic to pot and saute until translucent, 3-4 minutes
Pour in white wine and bring to simmer, making sure to scrape bits from the bottom
Add the broth, Worcestershire sauce and mustard and combine
Return lamb shanks to pot and spoon sauce over them
Cover and place in the oven. Cook for 2.5 hours until meat is tender and pulls apart
Remove lamb shanks and rest for 10 minutes before serving
