We're Jonah & Sharone Chusid — a husband-and-wife team who built Chu's around one simple idea: give the kosher community access to the kind of premium meat usually reserved for high-end steakhouses.

What started as a family dream is now a real butcher shop on Central Ave, run the way family businesses should be — by hand, with people we know by name. We fly in to meet our Wagyu suppliers face to face, taste everything ourselves, and only put a cut in our case if we'd serve it at our own Shabbos table.

What's the deal with kosher certification?

How our kashrus works: Chu's doesn't do any food processing on-site, so we don't have daily in-store supervision. Every product we carry is kashered, nikkur/treibored, butchered, and vacuum-sealed at the plant under full rabbinic supervision.

Double identification: Each piece arrives factory-sealed with two simanim (tamper-evident IDs).

Who certifies the plants? Our two main suppliers, Letovim and Landsman Meat Company, both operate under STAR-K certification.

It's like buying a Meal Mart brisket at Costco or an Empire chicken at Trader Joe's — the store may not carry a single hashgacha, but the pre-packaged products do. The difference is that Chu's is Jewish family-owned and operated, with your best interests in mind.

Where do you source your meat from?

We work directly with trusted American ranchers and producers known for consistency, animal welfare, and flavor. Our selection includes American Wagyu, premium Black Angus, pasture-raised poultry, and Colorado lamb — each chosen for quality, not volume.

Is all your meat Glatt Kosher?

Yes. All of our meat is Glatt Kosher and certified by respected kosher authorities. We maintain strict standards across sourcing, processing, and handling to ensure transparency and trust at every step.
