Instructions: Soak the whetstone in water for 10 minutes before use. The rubber base gives a secure hold on the table/shelf. Use the 1000 grit to give the knife a fine grind. To get a perfect grind, professionals polish the edge afterward with the 3000 grit for the so-called high-end polish. With a non-slip rubber base.
