"wagyu of the sea" is how I describe Otoro. These umami packed bites will have you asked is this fish or beef?
Otoro is cut from the belly of yellowfin tuna. It is extremely marbleized and has that same melt in your mouth sensation as our fullblood wagyu products. In this recipe we use traditional asian flavors to unlock all the flavor profiles of a classic umami bite.
Ingredients
-
1 LB Otoro Tuna Belly
-
¼ cup soy sauce
-
2 tablespoons sesame oil
-
2 tablespoons mirin
-
1 tablespoon minced ginger
-
1 tablespoon minced garlic
-
1 tablespoon chopped scallion
-
2 pinches of sesame seeds
Directions
Slice Otoro into bite size strips or cubes
Whisk together soy, sesame, mirin, ginger, garlic and scallion
Pour mixture over otoro cubes
Mix otoro with soy mixture until fully coated
Mariante for 10-15 minutes
Garnish with sesame seeds
Enjoy!
This sounds spectacular; can’t wait to try. But, we had the Ora King Salmon and wow!!! Buttery taste and the skin was crisp and delicious. Way to go, Jonah!!! Great products.
